ANIKI

Aniki
Aniki has been into music all his life and first got into production at the early age of 13. Having dabbled with all kinds of genres from gabber to breaks, even programming some hard rock, he eventually settled on hard house in 2000. He made his first hard house track using production software Mad Tracker and had 5 releases on UK based label Shock Records. In 2004 he hooked up Kelevra (known back then as Digital Kid) and together they collaborated on Riggsy's Xtension label.

Naturally Aniki's tastes matured and he began to experiment with techno having numerous releases on minor labels before being introduced to the fidget scene after listening to Kelevras KrunKd Up mixtape. He instantly fell in love with it due to the lack of boundaries meaning he had creative freedom to do what he wanted........the resulting track was Heavy Sound. This garnered support from the scenes biggest players incl. Lee Mortimer, Kelevra and Mixin' Marc and was signed to Movement Music.

Aniki's production skills come from years of experience and his acute ear for detail. Moulding gut wrenching bass lines with big-room builds and catchy, stabby, unique vocals his tracks are always full of tension and energy.

OLIVER TWIZT

Oliver Twizt
THE STORY OF OLIVER TWIZT

1983 – Born in Bilthoven, Raised in Utrecht (the Netherlands)

1996 – Went to local record shops to just play Hardcore en Hiphop vinyls for hours, but never bought them …was pretty addicted to gangster rap but also seemed to like that “Ruffneck rules the Artcore scene” stuff..weird for a black kid..

2000 - Millennium.. the millennium infiltrated his parents ears when Oliver discovered the music making software, Fruity Loops! He was so convinced he’d become the new Timbaland… he didn’t make it further than composing a number lame-ass dutch bubbling remixes… BUT he was PROUD!

2003 - Succesfully finished grammar skool, after a delay of 2 years, due to the fact that his main interests were making jackin’beats, going to clubs, girls and hanging round shopping malls after closing time…

2003 – 2006 A busy period, mainly focusing on his study of Industrial Design @ the Technical University of Eindhoven (The Netherlands). After 3 years of hard work he can finally call himself a Bachelor of Science.. and has made mama proud now! He then faced the most difficult choice in his life so far: going for the title “Master of Science” or making those fidgety sounding techno shuffled ghetto beats. He decided to do both at first, but after 6 months the choice was made and it was full on Music!

2006 – 2007 Oliver got picked up by Erick E, after making a bootleg remix of Erick E’s “the beat is rockin’ (which became his first official release!). In this period Oliver was the producer of the Skitzofrenix and under this name he remixed Gregor Salto, Sidney Samson, Debonair Samir and more. Skitzofrenix’ debut EP was titled the “Damn It Ep” and was released on Sidney Samson’s Samsobeats. It became serious when 1management signed them exclusively!

2008-2009 (but mostly in 2008) After deciding to go solo and also taking over the decks, the artist known as Oliver Twizt was born. Oliver’s first solo track “Do The Monkey” (ft Roga) entered the Uk Buzz Charts at number 4 and was supported by the likes of Roger Sanchez, Sander van Doorn, Carl Cox, Judge Jules and more. Surprisingly enough, Oliver’s relatively short existence on the scene didn’t stop him from being invited to play at big events and clubs like Creamfields (UK), Junk Club (Uk), Emporium (NL), Latin Village (NL) to name but a few. After the success of “Do The Monkey” (which also had its official video broadcasted on MTV), Oliver Twizt started taking over charts with tracks like “Underground”, “Finally” (w. Bart B More, #2 Beatport Chart), “You’re Not Alone” (#1 PH chart Beatport, “Another Step” which was a top 10 best sold Hed Kandi record in 2009 and remixed Bart B More, Sander van Doorn, Erick E and more!

OLIVER TWIZT’S 2010 - New year, new beats…Oliver’s set to turn the power on full in 2010. After being fairly quiet in 2009, Oliver already has more than 10 tracks ready to hit the new year! His kick-off will be, the Dutch titled “Wil Jij Dansen” (ft Divine) on Spinnin Records! Which is madly supported by all Dutch Jocks. He’ll then hit the world with his “Gangsterdam” on Laidback Luke’s Mighty Mixmash, with full support from Luke himself, David Guetta (quote: “I love the Oliver Twizt, it’s gangster!”) Sidney Samson, Chuckie and more! He’s finishing up tracks for his smashing EP on Diplo’s Maddecent and has signed his tracks Headbanger and Bimma (ft. Bassjackers) to Sneakerz Muzik, to name just a few things of what’s coming up! Lets hope this year Oliver Twizt’s dreams will come true!

AQUASKY

Aquasky
After a small sabbatical Aquasky are going back to their roots. With a history that was forged at the start of the Acid House era and a career that has followed the progression of that scene from acid, to jungle, to drum and bass, onto breakbeat and now bass music, the trio return to embrace the passions that has kept them together for so long.

It’s been 15 years since the debut release by the Bournemouth trio on the legendary Moving Shadow label. During their years of making drum and bass they recorded for a host of cult labels including Reinforced, Good Looking, Hospital and R&S. Championed for their liquid vibes by the likes of Fabio and LTJ Bukem, they were soon snapped up by major label Polydor where an album emerged titled ‘Orange Dust (1997)’. A few years later they were back with Moving Shadow and released another batch of 12” singles with the label and two albums ‘Bodyshock (1999)’ and ‘Aftershock (2000)’.

The following year they recorded a disco/latin house album as Tenth and Parker titled ‘TwentyTwelve (2001)’ for the label Mr.Bongo/Disorient which featured profile guests from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and host of remixes including King Britt.

Over the course of the millennia Aquasky’s musical tastes and interests shifted from d&b to the fledgling Nuskool Breaks scene. Feeling the music was a little too laidback for their tastes the trio spent 1999-2001 rebranding their sound into a rawkus bass frenzy which was branded in 2002 by DJ Mag as ‘Bassline Breaks’. This sub-genre accelerated, converting many producers and saw the guys tour the world heavily, sharing their latest studio creations.

The pinnacle of this era came together in the form of the album Teamplayers (2006) where Aquasky collaborated with 30 other artists to create one of the most memorable and encompassing breakbeat albums of recent times.

During 2007-2008 the trio were heavily influenced by the electro house scene and created a sound that bridged their rowdy breakbeat vibe into 4/4 beats. In perusing this musical off-shoot a new alias was devised, ‘Black Noise’, which saw the boys signing to Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried Records and remixing the likes of Crookers, Diplo, Sidney Samson, Don Diablo, Engine Earz and many others.

In 2010 Aquasky celebrated their 15th year as a production/DJ outfit and a decision was made to bring the Aquasky sound back to the rowdy days of old. A breakbeat mashup, twists of drum and bass and anything else that gets the ravers jumping. A celebration of the rave culture and everything that helped create the trio into what they are today.

2011 will see Aquasky continue to collaborate heavily with The Ragga Twins with an album planned and a series of singles over the next 12 months. There is even a whisper of a little bit of drum and bass too! Now onto the mission!!!

MIGHTYFOOLS

Mightyfools
Mightyfools, the illustrious Dutch producers recognized by making raging parties as a DJ-duo, definitely deserve some enlightenment now that they have become a worldwide phenomenon.
Amongst their supporters are quite a few of the big shots: Laidback Luke, Diplo, Don Diablo, Switch, Hardwell, Fedde Le Grand, Fake Blood and all of their dancing secretaries.
But having a long list of supporters is not the only thing they’ve accomplished. After delivering quality records on well-respected labels such as Lektroluv (their current home label), Potty Mouth, Ultra, One Love, Venga & BMKLTSCH, amongst others, their career took off like a living cannon ball. Whilst touring around the globe, bringing their energetic DJ shows, it’s almost impossible to believe that only a few years ago the Mightyfools were ‘just another DJ-duo’.

It all began as this cliché dream story. One night, these remarkable boys -Andy Samin and Jelle Keizer- somehow got lost in an empty club. Trying to break the deafening silence they started talking and it appeared they had a similar musical taste, as well as the persistence to break out. So when they combined their forces they created this foolish mash up of party sounds inspired by house, disco, electro and a dose of rock ‘n roll, all led by their notorious bass lines. They broke loose and since then never got lost in quietness again.
Within a few months they became some of the most sought after remixers and producers in the current dance scene. The two seemed to posses a crazy gift, creating instant dancefloor hits and terrifyingly thriving remixes of top class artists like Crookers and Tommie Sunshine, making even the world famous band Fall Out Boy totally rave about this new take on their song.

So what is the trademark Mightyfools-sound? It’s an earsplitting slap in the face of high quality and extremely energetic music. It landed them a top five position and each EP reaching the top 100 on Beatport.com, a number one position on Djdownload.com, number one on rcrdlbl.com, number one on hypem.com and number one on the hypem twitter charts.. We’d rather not bore you with the rest, but the international press have noticed the Fools as well, resulting in airplay, interviews and livesets on Radio 538 (NL), Studio Brussel (BE), BBC Radio 1 (UK), Radio Cafe (HU) and more leading radio stations across the world.

Basically their career kick-off promised nothing but success and, well, it simply turned out that way too. Nowadays the Mightyfools are celebrated for their unequaled tireless performances on big events such as Sensation in the Amsterdam ArenA, Dirty Dutch, Mysteryland Festival, Creamfields UK, DimMak Tuesdays in Hollywood LA, Dance Valley, WMC Miami, Amsterdam Dance Event, Noorderslag and notorious clubs and events like Social Club Paris, Gatecrasher UK, Razmatazz Barcelona, Rauw Amsterdam, Fuse Belgium, Beta Denver, Chinese Laundry Sydney, Woda Mexico City, Voyeur San Diego, events for brands such as Vice, Jägermeister and Bacardi, and hundreds of clubs worldwide. All of this without losing their breath.

After a hectic 2009 & 2010 that brought the Mightyfools all over the globe, eating and sleeping in airplanes, busting parties and bringing foolishness in many cities, from Los Angeles to Sydney and from Paris to Mexico City, jointly losing their sanity in all the clubs, 2011 promises nothing but more of their worldwide success. All we can do now is work out and try to keep up with their rhythm.

BLACK NOISE

Black Noise
Black Noise was created in 2009 as an alias for Aquasky to release their 4/4 cut-up house experiments that they had been working on in their lab during 2008 onwards. A remix opportunity arose for Norman Cook and from that Black Noise ended up signing to his record label Southern Fried Records.

Work soon started on the debut EP (titled EP: 1) featuring Nick Thayer and a soon to be discovered Miami band by the name of Wizard Sleeve. Lex One from Wizard Sleeve was Aquasky’s tour manager on visits to Florida, so it was decided that a track with his band was a necessary for the first EP. The EP was a great success, featuring four tracks and a remix by Andy George. Support came from Lee Mortimer, Laidback Luke, Kissy Sellout, MSTRKRFT, A1 Bassline, Steve Aoki and many, many more. Not wanting to waste time EP: 2 was soon started featuring again Lex One and also the LA rapper Murs (Definitive Jux) recording the tracks ‘Jackin My Fresh’ and ‘Looking Fly’ respectively. ‘Jackin My Fresh’ had a video created for it, notching over 100k youtube hits within a month of it going live and also personally blogged on his site by none other than Kanye West! ‘Looking Fly’ also featured another guest on the chorus who remains top secret to this day. No more can be said for fear of a Black Eye. The sound of Black Noise was reaching far and wide!!!

Then followed the remixes for an impressive collection of artists such as Diplo, Don Diablo, The Futureheads, 2 mixes for Crookers, Laidback Luke, Sidney Sampson, Trevor Loveys & Sinden, Will Bailey, Rhythm Section, Tonka, The Young Punx, Engine Earz, Tom Piper, Tommie Sunshine, Nick Thayer, HeavyFeet and more...

Whilst all this was going on Black Noise were working behind the scenes with their mates The Cut-Up Boys (made infamous on Ministry Of Sound for their chart topping Mash Up series). Ministry had just signed Sidney Sampson’s ‘Riverside’ track to their label and needed a vocal to take it into the charts. The Cut-Up boys experimented with the Wizard Sleeve track from EP: 1 (‘Me Plus You’) and a hit was created. Over the course of the summer of 2009 the track was fine tuned between Miami and Bournemouth. A video was shot in October of that year and in January 2010 Sidney Sampson featuring Wizard Sleeve ‘Riverside (Lets Go!)’ was released and climbed to Number 2 in the UK charts, just missing Gold but collecting a Silver Disc for its troubles (385,000 sales to date and 15,000 sales short of Gold!) They also have a hand in the next Soho Spiv release on Roger Sanchez’s Stealth label and have been producing tracks for Mikill Pane alongside Jake Gosling.

Soon the country were whistling and signing the lyrics and tune and the track appeared across the TV and radio including Harry Hill, Eastenders and The X Factor!

Over the past 12 months Black Noise have been working closely with Wizard Sleeve on their debut album and also splitting their time with their Mr.Hyde counterpart Aquasky!!! Alongside that they have been busy creating their ‘Warehouse’ sample pack for the sample pack kings Loopmasters under a sub-label titled Monster Sounds. The guys have new EPs signed up with Lee Mortimer’s Wearhouse label and their own Passenger Records alongside collaborations with Lee Mortimer and Kelevra as well as DJing their unique blend of rather rowdy cut up house around the world in conjunction with their agents Ideal DJs.

Ramp up the bass and start a little fun – Black Noise are hitting HEAVY!!!
