THE SQUATTERS

A couple of DJ producers, making tracks and remixing audio fodder, for DJs and their dance floors.They were quickly picked up on by Radio One DJ, Kissy Sell Out; noticing the unexploded duo, he signed The Squatters, not just to his Label (San City High) but invited them on tour with him in 2010

The game plan was created by Oliver Portamento and Alex Powell, who have been working together for many years, not just as DJs but also as successful Promoters, Event Organisers and Producers. Taking influences from Oldskool, Hip Hop and Rave, then fusing it with today’s modern House, Electro and more experimental genres such as Dub Step, Drum n’ Bass and even Trance. By cut n’ pasting these together, adding chopped vocals and colossal breakdowns, they have created a unique big room sound that has closed the ranks between the genres ensuring a heavyweight impact on the dance floor.

Their productions and remixes have received consistent airing by BBC Radio One, Kiss100 & Galaxy, as well as support from a countless list of elite radio and club DJs. Having remixed and produced for some of the worlds’ finest Labels... Universal, Champion, San City High and many more...

They have both graced some of the worlds, rarest clubs, events, warehouses and festivals such as Global Underground, Ministry Of Sound (London), Mixmag Warehouse, Privilege (Ibiza) and Reclaim The Dance Floor (Voted Mixmag’s 1 Night Worldwide) at Eden (Ibiza) alongside some of the worlds’ biggest artists including Tiesto, 2ManyDJs, Annie Mac, The Scratch Perverts, Utah Saints, Fake Blood, Jack Beats.... the list is endless.
