NORMAN DORAY

Norman Doray
Thanks to his parents, Norman Doray grew up listening to music. Deeply influenced by the likes of Bob Sinclar; Daft Punk, Norman was quickly attracted to turntables and Djing. He started spinning in 2002 in several clubs near his hometown in the west of France, and quickly earned residency in 2003, in a club in Lille.

A year and a half later Norman was on the move, playing in clubs throughout France and abroad, while making his first steps production-wise. His first track was released in the spring of 2006 'In The Name Of Love', a collab with friend Pierre De La Touche, on the German label 'Starfunk Records'. Norman added Arno Cost to the production team and formed the trio 'The Freshmakers'.

Under that name, Norman’s second track 'Let You Go' was released in 2006 on Serial Records. 'Let You Go' was considered as THE track of Summer 2006 in France, not only highly charted on radios such as Radio FG, Fun Radio, Contact FM, but also quickly reached No.1 in the club charts, and camped there for 6 weeks.

On the tail of that success, The Freshmakers were asked to remix 3 tracks: Da Sushiman - 'In & Out' (Ledge Music); Serial Crew - 'Make Your Own Kind Of Music' (Serial Records); Rilod - 'Thriller' (Nice Music), and at the beginning of 2007 went on to remix the huge hit Sunfreakz 'Counting Down The Days' and Antoine Clamaran’s blockbuster track 'Give Some Love'. Norman then solo remixed 'Soul Heaven' by Henrik B, for Joia Records.

Norman Doray's first solo production and summer sounding "Jetlag" was not far behind. Released in May 2007 on Serial Records. Radio FG wanted Norman as DJ resident in September '07 and he has had his slot there ever since, a one hour floor stompin' mix show every week. Before 2007 ended, Norman teamed up again with Arno Cost and produced the now legendary 'Apocalypse'. This track put both Norman and Arno on the Worldwide dance map, and gave to Norman his first Essential New Tune on Pete Tong's show.

Thanks to the success of this anthem, Norman moved on to remix tracks such as 'Humanoidz' by Tom de Neef & Laidback Luke (Jsquad), 'Delirious' by David Guetta (Virgin), 'Baba O Riley' by Cube Guys (Ministry Of Sound), '24H' by Seamus Haji (Big Love) and 'Kalle' by Zoo Brazil (Joia), all played by the biggest names on the scene. Along with these projects, 'The Freshmakers' trio produced their second single 'Miracle', with a massive remix by Mischa Daniels.

In the summer of 2008, Norman Doray was chosen by David Guetta to play 'F*** Me I'm Famous' in Ibiza. Peaktime summer clubbing frenzy. Norman Doray's second solo single 'Krystal' was released at the end of September '08, directly on CR2, Serial Records and We Play, directly followed by a massive collaboration with Tristan Garner called 'Last Forever', which was his second Essential New Tune. Pete played it more than 10 times in his show. This track was one of the biggest club tracks of 2009.

Always spinning, always producing, Norman never stops. 2009 was a big year for him, he remixed; Those Usual Suspects – 'Shadows' (Ministry Of Sound), David Guetta Ft. Kelly Rowland – 'When Love takes Over' and above all Mark Brown Vs The Face – 'Needin u'. This track became one of Ibiza's most spun tracks of 2009. End of April saw Norman collaborate with the talented Swedish producer Albin Myers to create the track 'Drink N' Dial'.

During the summer of '09 Norman played 'F*** Me I'm Famous', 'The Dark Forest' (with the Swedish House Mafia), Papaya club (Croatia), Warehouse Tokyo, Set Club Miami and Sankeys Manchester, to name just a few.

2010 was a big year for Norman, we've seen him release the massive dance floor bombs 'Tobita' which was Essential New Tune in Pete Tong Show, followed by 'Chase The Sun' with David Tort, which reached No.2 on Beatport for 3 weeks. He also did his own remix of Dirty South's 'Phazing' and was asked by Atlantic records to remix Toni Braxton's 'Make My Heart'. He is also on fire with some forthcoming tracks: 'Home' on Defected and 'Tweet it' on Size (Steve Angello's Label).

Outside of the studio, Norman's also had a very busy year touring the globe, highlights including: Miami WMC (10 gigs in one week!), playing Pacha Ibiza for both David Guetta and The Swedish House Mafia, a Brazilian, Indian, Australian and a Japanese tour, gigs at the World's No1 club Sankeys in Manchester and festival sets at: Sunburn Festival (Goa), The Sunset Festival (UK) and Tomorrowland (BE).

Norman is also resident at David Guetta's night: F*** Me I'm Famous all over the world and performed in venues like Mansion in Miami or Zenith concert hall in Paris.
